Saab Key Programming
Saab cars made from 1994 have an immobilizer that relies on a set of keys. A new transponder is required to allow the addition of an extra key, and special programming. This is usually done by the dealer using the Tech2 diagnostic tool.
The problem is that this can be very expensive. You should always keep a spare set of keys on hand.
Transponder key
The transponder is a piece of key equipped with an electronic chip. This chip sends a signal when the key is put into the ignition. The car then examines the signal to determine whether it matches the one on the key. If the signals match it will open itself and start. This is an excellent way to protect your vehicle from theft.
Transponder keys could be an extremely popular accessory for automobiles, but they are not as secure as traditional metal keys. While the metal parts of a traditional key could be cut and copied however, a transponder is secured by an electronic chip. The chip is a unique code which is programmed into a car's computer order to identify it.

After the columns and rows are soldered, it's time to connect them to the key switches. To do this, you need to place a diode over each pin on the key switch and then solder it. This will shield the pins from current, thus preventing them from getting shorted. A diode only allows the current to flow in a single direction, and it also has a the black band as a visual indicator that indicates the direction in which current will flow.

Jump starting the battery
